CANASTA: The Crash Analysis Troubleshooting Assistant

چکیده
CANASTA (crash analysis troubleshooting assistant) is a Digital proprietary knowledge-based system developed by the Artificial Intelligence Applications Group (AIAG) at Digital Equipment Corporation in collaboration with Digital's customer support centers (CSCs). It is targeted to assist computer support engineers at CSCs in analyzing operating system crashes, traditionally one of the most complex types of problems reported by customers. Digital started work on CANASTA in January 1988. A version of CANASTA that assists in the analysis of vms operating system crashes was successful: It is currently deployed at CSCs in over 20 countries and is used to resolve over 850 crash-related customer calls each month. It is estimated that in time savings alone, it saves Digital over 2 million dollars each year. CANASTA's success largely results from the innovative way in which it integrated different problem-solving modules that model the different types of problem-resolution strategies that experts use in this domain. These strategies include making quick checks (rule based) on whether the crash at hand is because of a known cause, using deeper analysis (decision tree–based) reasoning to resolve new types of crash prob

Analyzing Motorcycle Crash Pattern and Riders’ Fault Status at a National Level: A Case Study from Iran
Motorcycle crashes constitute a significant proportion of traffic accidents all over the world. The aim of this paper was to examine the motorcycle crash patterns and rider fault status across the provinces of Iran. For this purpose, 6638 motorcycle crashes occurred in Iran through 2009-2012 were used as the analysis data and a two-step clustering approach was adopted as the analysis framework....
متن کاملSpatial Decision Support for Tropical Agriculture: CaNaSTA Probability Modelling
When identifying suitable niches for specific crops, or identifying the probability of a phenomenon occurring at a specified location, the focus is often on quantifying spatial extent. Whilst this is a fundamental aspect of modelling, it is also important to understand why these locations are selected. This is specially so for agricultural products for which quality matters, i.e. most higher va...
متن کاملInfluence of Elastic Support on the Energy Absorption in Front Crash Ductile Failure Criterion
Thin-walled structures like crash boxes may be used as energy absorption members in automotive chassis. There have been many studies addressing the behaviors of energy absorption members on frontal crash. These researches have attempted to predict the energy absorption and maximum impact load in shell structures. The energy absorption and maximum impact load depend on many parameters including ...
متن کاملAn Investigation on Crash Worthiness of Different Vehicle Brands: A Case Study of Rollover Crashes
This study aimed at indexing crash worthiness capability of 20 most frequently used car brands in Iran. Since rollover crashes are one of the most important crash types due to their high impact on crash severity, they were chosen as the case study of the current research. In this regard, the data of 42,118 rollover crashes of urban and rural roads of Iran which occurred from 2009 to 2012 was us...
متن کاملBuilding a file system with FSCQ infrastructure
FSCQ is a file system with a machine-checkable proof (using the Coq proof assistant [2]) that its implementation meets its specification, even under crashes. FSCQ provably avoids bugs that have plagued previous file systems, such as performing disk writes without sufficient barriers or forgetting to zero out directory blocks. FSCQ built upon the Crash Hoare Logic (CHL) infrastructure. FSCQ uses...
